Bruichladdich has released Rare Cask Series “The Untouchable”, a 1988 vintage matured for 30 years in refill bourbon and refill squat hogsheads.

Bruichladdich Rare Cask Series “The Untouchable” is described as having aromas of “sweet red fruit, candied orange peel, lemon balm, chocolate, toasted oak, roasted hazelnuts, and a briny note like salted honey.” The palate is “light and elegant” with “boiled sweet style fruit, tannins, roasted coffee, amaretto, apricot, and toasted malty bread.” It finishes with “chocolate, amaretto, a hint of spicy clove, rose petal, and toasted oak.”

Bruichladdich 1988 / 30 Years Rare Cask Series “The Untouchable” is bottled unchill-filtered and colouring free at a natural strength of 46.2% ABV and is limited to just 6,000 bottles. It carries a suggested retail price of £750 (~$970) and is available for purchase now at Bruichladdich’s Distillery Shop and will be available at European and US retailers shortly.
